Pleased to meet you!

Meg.

I’ve got a passion for food, friends, family and fitness. Some of my fondest memories are working as a chef at a Northern fishing lodge and sitting around a table with family, enjoying good food. A few years ago on my way home from a business trip, as I sat sobbing in my seat while watching the movie The Biggest Little Farm thinking to myself “I want that”, I realized that these passions could no longer sit on the backburner. Since that moment, we began making the necessary changes needed to create our own “Little farm”. I love using my knowledge and talents on the land and in the kitchen at Boreal Ranch to bring the very best high quality, Manitoba-grown food and experiences to tables everywhere. I would look forward to hosting you.

Rob.

Since my mid 30s, I’ve had a bit of an obsession with trying to understand what health actually is, and what makes a living being live well. In the end, we are all made of the same atomic stuff, all under the influence of our environment and the energy that powers it. Nature, left to its native state, will weave this stuff to produce and support life that will thrive in ALL respects. It’s that simple.

Bring nature back, and bring health back. That is what I believe in and what I want to live, share, and continually learn about.

Joe.

Although I enjoy being at the ranch with the chickens and the cats, I am very busy with school, hockey, fishing, friends and my part-time job, so I don’t make it out there very often. I do help and support the family business though by contributing at home.

Cash.

Hi, I’m Cash, I am a 13-year-old boy who helps at the ranch. I like to frame and build structures for our animals and the ranch. I also started making the sweaters and sings for the ranch. I enjoy spending time with our animals and helping my mom, Megan, take care of the animals when she is on vacation. I think that the ranch is a very healthy environment for the animals to grow up in, considering that the animals can roam free and eat the pasture, which regenerates our land to create more healthy animals in the future to come.

Raco.

My name is Raco. At 19 years old, I have officially retired from being the Ranch CMH (Chief Mouse Hunter) and now spend my days lounging around in warm places.

Chaga and Lynx.

We are Chaga and Lynx. When we are not inside helping Meg with office work, we are patrolling the ranch and keeping the mice, weasels and foxes (yes! I’ve witnessed it!!) away.
