It’s go time!!

Spring is not far away! With the weather starting to warm up, Rob and Cash have been taking advantage of those hot sunny days to get outside and start building the structures for our animals.

First up – broiler (meat chicken) tractors.  These structures are based on the tried and true design by the chicken master - Joel Salatin.

When completed, the box can hold up to 70 birds. It sits outside on the pasture and is so light that it can be picked up and moved (birds inside) to fresh pasture every day – ensuring a constant fresh supply of grass and bugs.

Megan has been busy in the office procuring parts, ordering birds and making plans to welcome 40 little chicks in April.

Tractors are scheduled to be completed before the end of the month so stay tuned!
